A dual-specialty clinic built around getting the diagnosis right

Siva Sakthi Vascular & Rheumatology Center brings vascular and endovascular surgery together with rheumatology and immunology in Kothapeta, Guntur.

Why the two specialities sit together

Most clinics are built around a single speciality. We are not, and that is deliberate. Vascular disease and rheumatic disease share more ground than their names suggest: a leg ulcer may be venous, arterial, diabetic or vasculitic; Raynaud’s phenomenon sits between the two; swelling can be venous, lymphatic or inflammatory. Patients with those symptoms are frequently sent back and forth between specialists in different cities before anyone reaches a diagnosis.

Having an MCh-qualified vascular and endovascular surgeon and a DM-qualified rheumatologist in the same clinic shortens that road. It also means a patient with diabetes, joint pain and a non-healing foot wound can be assessed properly in one place, in one visit.

Our approach to care

Three principles run through both services. First, measure before treating — investigation is used to answer a specific clinical question, and treatment follows what it shows. Second, choose the least invasive option that gives a durable result, and say plainly when it does not. Third, review: chronic vascular and rheumatic disease is managed against a target over years, and treatment is adjusted as that target moves.

We also try to explain. Patients decide better when they understand what a scan showed, what each option involves and what recovery realistically looks like — so consultations are built around that rather than around a prescription.

What we do not do

We do not promise outcomes. Results in vascular surgery and in autoimmune disease vary between individuals, and any clinic that guarantees a result is not describing medicine accurately. What we do commit to is an honest assessment, a clear explanation of the options, and the qualifications to deliver them.

Our premises

Find us on 60 Feet Road, Kothapeta

The clinic occupies its own building on 60 Feet Road — near Indian Springs School and directly opposite the turning for Kugler Hospital Road.

Consulting rooms, examination and the waiting area are all on site, so a vascular assessment and a rheumatology review can happen in the same visit rather than across two appointments in two places.

  • Ground-floor access directly from 60 Feet Road
  • Seated waiting area next to reception
  • Street parking outside the building

What to expect at Siva Sakthi

Assessment on the day

Vascular consultations commonly include duplex ultrasound at the same visit, so you leave with an explanation rather than only a referral.

Targeted investigation

Antibody panels, inflammatory markers and imaging are ordered selectively against a clinical question, not as a blanket screen.

Continuity of care

The consultant who assesses you is the consultant who reviews you, which matters most in chronic disease managed over years.

Local access

Care in Guntur for conditions that have often meant travelling to a metro city.

Our specialists

The doctors you will see

Both consultants hold super-specialty qualifications — the highest level of speciality training in their fields — and see patients personally.

Vascular & Endovascular Surgery

Dr. Vijay Kumar Vishnumolakala

Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon · MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MCh (Vascular Surgery)

Dr. Vijay Kumar Vishnumolakala is a Consultant Vascular & Endovascular Surgeon with extensive experience in treating vascular disease. He completed his MBBS at GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry, followed by an MS in General Surgery at Katuri Medical College, Guntur, and then the MCh in Vascular Surgery at MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bengaluru — the super-specialty training that qualifies a surgeon to operate on the arterial, venous and lymphatic systems.

His practice covers the full spectrum of vascular disease: peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischaemia, the diabetic foot, varicose veins and deep vein thrombosis, carotid disease, aneurysm repair by both open and endovascular technique, arteriovenous malformations, lymphoedema, mesenteric ischaemia and vascular injuries. He also creates and maintains vascular access for patients on dialysis for chronic kidney disease — arteriovenous fistula, AV graft and permcath insertion — and performs thrombolysis for acute arterial and venous occlusion.

He believes patients decide better when they understand the anatomy of their own problem, so every consultation includes an explanation of what the scan shows, what each treatment option involves, and what recovery realistically looks like.

Areas of focus

  • Varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency
  • Deep vein thrombosis and thrombolysis
  • Peripheral arterial disease and critical limb ischaemia
  • Diabetic foot and limb salvage
  • AV access for dialysis — fistula, graft and permcath insertion
  • Carotid disease and stroke prevention
  • Aneurysm repair — open and endovascular
  • Vascular malformations and lymphoedema
  • Vascular injuries and mesenteric ischaemia

Rheumatology & Immunology

Dr. Deepika Ponnuru

Consultant Rheumatologist and Immunologist · MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Rheumatology)

Dr. Deepika Ponnuru is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Immunologist. She trained first in Internal Medicine (MD) and then completed a DM in Rheumatology, the highest super-specialty qualification in the field in India.

She treats inflammatory and autoimmune disease of the joints, muscles and connective tissue — rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and other spondyloarthritis, lupus, scleroderma, Sjögren’s syndrome, vasculitis, gout, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and post-viral arthritis including chikungunya. Her work combines careful clinical examination with targeted immunological testing so that treatment is matched to the actual disease rather than to the symptom alone.

Because inflammatory joint damage is largely irreversible once established, she places particular emphasis on early diagnosis, on treating to a defined target, and on reviewing therapy often enough to keep disease activity low over years rather than weeks.

Areas of focus

  • Rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory joint disease
  • Ankylosing spondylitis and axial spondyloarthritis
  • Scleroderma and connective tissue disease
  • Raynaud’s phenomenon and vasculitis
  • Chikungunya and other post-viral arthritis
  • Gout, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis
